Abstract
Abstract ‘Superior’ potatoes were planted on 19 May in Sunderland, Mass. Fertilizer (1,000 lb 10:10:10/acre) was broadcast and incorporated before planting. The soil type was a fine sandy loam with a pH of ca. 5.5. Dinoseb was applied at 2 lb (AI)/acre prior to plant emergence. Treatment plots were replicated in a randomized complete block design. Each plot consisted of 2-30 ft rows with a 3-ft fallow area between each plot. Treatments were applied with CO2 pressurized sprayers at around 40 lb/in2 with a delivery rate of ca 65 gal/acre. Spray applications were made on 29 Jun., 6, 19 and 26 Jul., and 2 Aug. R016-3964 10G (0.5 and 1.0) was applied in the furrow at planting.
