Abstract

The article considers one of the important components of the activity of the creative organization of the Union of Composers of Dagestan – the collection and publication of musical folklore. The author focuses on the analysis of the collecting activities of Dagestan composers and musicologists of the Soviet and post-Soviet periods, their mentors and colleagues from the central cities of the country, emphasizing their purposeful contribution to the formation of a scientific and practical base for the scientific study of folk music heritage.
