Abstract

A low level of collagen synthesis has been detected in endoderm cells of developing frog embryos. There is little difference between the relative rates of collagen synthesis between the ectoderm-mesoderm and endoderm cells at the gastrula stage. By the tailbud stage most of the collagen being made by the embryo is synthesized by the ectoderm-mesoderm.
