Abstract
This article addresses the collector’s problem, which involves collecting a certain number of items purchased rando-mly. The case in question arises when one desires to collect a specific number of items that are purchased randomly in packages containing a fixed quantity of such items, all distinct from each other. The objective is to find a function that estimates the number of items collected after a certain number of purchases of such packages. With this function, one can formulate an equation to estimate the number of purchases needed to achieve a complete collection
