Abstract
A compilation of the results of an international meeting entitled "Bases, methods and instruments for territorial development and cohesion: An assessment at Spanish, European and Ibero-American level", which brought together experts from the academic and scientific world, as well as from different agencies and bodies involved in territorial development and planning. Its contents are organised around three main themes: governance, polycentrism and partnership for territorial cohesion and development; territorial information and georeferencing for the planning and evaluation of policies; and the possibilities and requirements for a new strategic territorial planning that will enable progress to be made in the formulation of effective instruments to promote the sustainable territorial development of our geography.
