Abstract
Migraine is a kind of headache, in which patients feel intense ache on half part of their brain. They also feel queasiness, vomit, extreme sensation towards brightness or noise etc. The purpose of this research is to investigate cognitive disturbances of migraine in adult patients. Cognitive disturbance refers to the cognitive distortion which means negative thinking towards one’s own- self or about external world. 100 diagnosed migraine patients in which 50 male and 50 female have been selected from various hospitals of Ranchi. CDS (Cognitive Distortion Scale). Then after approximately similar control group of 100 healthy adults were selected by using GHQ-12 (General Health Questionnaire-12) and they were also administered CDS. The present study reveals that level of cognitive distortion is different among migraine patients and healthy adults. Migraineurs have higher level of cognitive distortion than non-migraineurs and gender does not influence the level of cognitive distortion in migraineurs but healthy male adults have a bit higher level of cognitive distortion than healthy female adults.
