Abstract

The testing of a satellite's Attitude and Orbit Control System is difficult to implement in a realistic manner on the ground. A number of methods have been employed, however, to provide an environment which dynamically exercises the control system. One technique specifically developed to test the Attitude and Orbit Control System of a geosynchronous three axis stabilized communications satellite is presented here. This technique allows the exercising of the control system in a real time, closed-loop configuration on a fully integrated spacecraft and with a minimum of test equipment interfacing.
