Abstract

Objective To study the clinical value of serum CA 15-3 and Mucin-like carcinomaassociated antigen (MCA) determination in the diagnosis and treat of breast cancer. Methods The enzymelinked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) and electro-chemical luminescence method were used to detect the serum level of CA 15-3 and MCA in 81 patients with breast cancer,145 control. Results The positive detecting rates of 145 control was 15.86% and 6.89%,the positive detecting rates of 81 patients with breast cancer was 46.91% and 33.33%,in the combined analysis of CA 15-3 and MCA,the positive unite detecting rates was 55.56%.Conclusion Serum MCA determination is very useful for monitor postoperative recurrence and metastasis in breast cancer. The specificity of MCA is higher than CA 15-3,but its sensitivity inferior to CA 15-3.Diagnostic efficiency of combined determination of serum of MCA and CA 153 in the breast cancer was higher than those of the single index. Key words: CA 153; MCA; Breast cancer
