Abstract
Objective To investigate the difference in visual acuity, the color discrimination and contrast sensitivity function after Matrix Acrylic 400 photochromic IOLs and aspherical blue-light-filtering intraocular lenses (Acrysof IQ) implantation. Methods Patients were randomly divided into 2 groups according to random number table.Phacoemulsification and IOL implantation were applied to patients with Matrix Acrylic 400 in 62 eyes and AcrySof IQ in 60 eyes, respectively. All patients were followed up for 3 months.General examinations including uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA),best corrected visual acuity (BCVA),color discrimination, contrast sensitivity (csv-1000E) and questionnaire (Catquest-9SF score) were applied at the 3rd month post-operation.Results UCVA,BCVA,color discrimination and questionnaire results were similar between the two groups (P ≥0.05).In mesopic with glare condition,Aurium photochromic group showed significantly higher GS (3cpd/6cpd spatial frequency:1.30+0.11/1.38+0.19) than IQ (3cpd/6cpd spatial frequency:1.16+0.12/1.10+0.18) (P <0.05).Conclusions The Aurium photochromic IOL provide better contrast sensitivity under mesopic with glare condition, thus improve the optical quality.
