Abstract

Objective To discuss the feasibility analysis of tumor excision along with limbal stem cell transplantation for smaller range of comeal dermoid tumor. Methods Prospective study:The 34 corneal dermoid patients whom met the criteria were randomly divided into control group A (took limbal stem cell transplantation) and group B (took allogeneic lamellar keratoplasty).Afterwards, patients' visual acuity, dioptre, cylinder and other indicators of clinical efficacy were observed. Results Group A and B had no significant difference in efficacy of best corrected visual acuity dioptre and cylinder. And both group A and B had no significant complications. Conclusions The efficacy of resection combined with autologous limbal stem cell transplantation for the smaller range of comeal dermoid are equal to the allogeneic lamellar keratoplasty, but the former is simpler in operation and has very few medical rejection. Its postoperative medication is also simple. Therefore,it is a safe and feasible surgical method.
