Abstract

Objective To study of the safety and clinical value of expandable hydrogel coil emboliza-tion for intracranial aneurysms. Methods 24 patients with 28 aneurysm embolization for the treatment,of 23 an-eurysms using hydrogel coil embolization. 21 cases of bleeding aneurysm, Hunt-Hess grade-six cases Ⅰ, Ⅱ-nine cases, Ⅲ-four cases, Ⅳ two cases. Aneurysms most Drive 3.6 to 17 mm(mean 8. 3±3.4) mm. Results Completely dense embolization 20, the aneurysm neck remnant of six, two partial embolization. Embolization den-sity was 39%to 124% ,with an average (67.6±32.3)%. Temporary contralateral limb hemiparesis occurred in four cases, due to serious ventricular drainage of vasospasm, intracranial infection and multiple organ failure in the one case of death, respoetively. Conclusion Expandable hydrogel coil embolization treated intracranial an-eurysms safe and effective, results are satisfactory, its clinical effect is worthy of further study. Key words: Intracranial aneurysma; Interventional treatment of hydrogel coils; Clinical application
