Abstract

Objective To observe the efficacy and safety of oral moxifloxacin in the treatment of outpatients with community-acquired pneumonia. Methods Fifty-six cases of community-acquired pneumonia patients used oral moxifloxacin. Meanwhile, the other 60 cases of patients used intravenous levofloxacin. Clinic index,bacterium clearance,curative effect and safety were observed. Results The clinical efficacy in the trial and control group were 94.6% and 92.6% respectively,and the bacterial eradication rates were 90.0% and 90.2%, The adverse drug reaction rates were evaluated in all patients, showing the rates were 7.1% and 18.5%. Conclusions Oral moxifloxacin is effective,simple and safe in the treatment of outpatients with community-acquired pneumonia. Key words: Community-acquired pneumonia; Moxifloxacin; Levofloxacin
