Abstract
O objetivo deste texto é refletir sobre as contribuições das Ciências Sociais para a Educação, as quais se confundem com o próprio desenvolvimento dessas ciências no Brasil. Pretende-se destacar algumas questões importantes sob o ponto de vista da Sociologia. Trata-se de estudo qualitativo, fruto, em grande parte, de minhas inserções, como pesquisadora, no campo da Educação.
