Abstract
Abstract: Representative of Chinese cultural globalization, the Four Classic Novels of Chinese Literature— Journey to the West, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Water Margin, and Dream of the Red Chamber —have been translated into various languages, including Burmese. This article discusses the translation process and the situation of the Four Classic Novels of Chinese Literature in Myanmar, and how they have been integrated into Burmese popular culture to expand their readership. Analysis includes exploration of Burmese writers’ translation work and the ways in which these works are assimilated to world and Burmese literature as well as television and new media.
