Abstract

AbstractSurvival and mutation induction studies have been explored in two strains of Taphrina maculans Butler with N‐methyl‐N'‐nitro‐N‐nitrosoguanidine. The salmon red strain is more susceptible to the mutagen than the creamy white one. Filamentous and small spored mutants were induced only in the creamy white strain. Pathogenicity tests of wild types and mutants revealed the latter as avirulent.
