Abstract

Today's students, members of Generation X, are in many ways different from the baby boomers who, for the most part, now design and provide most of the services in academic libraries. Xers have a findamentally different world view that is being heavily explored in marketing and demographic circles, but not so much in the library literature. Recognizing a few major cultural differences may help librarians to better meet the changing needs of today's students.
