Abstract

This chapter discusses the dimension of nonmetrizable spaces. It might be possible to extend the theory to somewhat more general spaces, but up to the present it is difficult to establish a satisfactory dimension theory for normal spaces or even for paracompact T2-spaces. The chapter explains the principles of dimension theory for nonmetrizable spaces. In nonmetrizable spaces, some difficulties are faced in establishing an elementary part of dimension theory.
