Abstract

There are two types of active participles: first, active participles that belong to a conjugational pattern and, second, active participles that do not belong to a conjugational pattern. There are four types of active participles that belong to a conjugational pattern. The first (type are participles that) begin in a root letter and similar cases. The second (type are participles that) begin in a built-in nun and similar cases. The third (type are participles that) begin in an affixed mem and similar cases. The fourth (type are participles that) begin in a built-in mem and similar cases. The affixed prefix is vocalised with a shewa and similar cases. In each conjugational pattern the active participle of which has a mem, a mem will inevitably be established on active participle forms and passive participle forms if the conjugational pattern has passive participles. Keywords: active participles; mem; root letter; shewa
