Abstract
Particle beams in periodic structures are discussed for arrays of general lenses and especially for quadrupole multiplets. Methods to avoid resonances in multicell structures are described for long beam lines and ring structures. Unit cells and beam waists as well as overall beam envelopes for different phase advances are discussed.
