Abstract
In this chapter, a comprehensive note on the origin and gradation form of functionally graded (FG) materials has been reported first. Subsequently, the static and dynamic characteristics of FG beams (or plates) involve the governing equations corresponding to different classical beam (or plate) theories. Furthermore, these studies include the recent developments carried out by different researchers throughout the world.
