Abstract
Recently, photocatalysis an artificial photosynthesis method that uses clean and sustainable chemistry to solve energy and environmental issues have gained tremendous interests. Thus, this chapter is a comprehensive overview on the recent progress on ternary semiconductor quantum dots for photocatalysis applications. Ternary quantum dots have been used for photocatalytic activities in water and wastewater treatment, and generation of fuel gas for energy demand. This chapter considers the properties of the ideal photocatalyst, novel synthesized ternary quantum dots as photocatalyst materials for energy and environmental issues. Furthermore, the future outlook and perspectives of ternary quantum dots based photocatalysis are discussed.
