Abstract
This chapter details the Ritz formulation in a rectangular coordinate system. This coordinate system is the most commonly used as it can readily handle almost any plate shape. The software code VPRITZRE is given with illustrative examples. Benchmark vibration frequencies are also presented for isosceles triangular plates, trapezoidal plates, and elliptical plates.
