Abstract

Public health research is increasingly important for the expansion of interventional radiology. This chapter reviews how to ask good public health research questions. Good research questions are created by following the PICO acronym, which includes population, intervention, control, and outcome. This chapter will review the PICO model in-depth, while also helping the reader formulate questions that are meaningful, measurable, and feasible. A historical review of uterine artery embolization, yttrium-90 hepatocellular carcinoma, and prostate artery embolization are provided as examples.
