Abstract

An overall summary of themes of other chapters is provided. Complexities highlighted include learning disorder (LD)–attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) cases, change over time, continuums of risk, and heterogeneity of interindividual profiles. The importance of early assessment and treatment of LD and ADHD is stressed. Examples of deidentified cases with demographic information, test scores, and summaries, and recommendations are provided for a comorbid LD+ADHD case, complex cases (ADHD or LD+comorbid problems), and simple (e.g., ADHD-only) cases. Important future directions for research are described, including efficacy and effectiveness of response to intervention, accommodations and modifications, and executive function (EF) training and neurotherapies.
