Abstract

Neurosurgical oncology remains a mainstay in the fields of modern neurosurgery and oncology, especially when considering its central role in the treatment and management of gliomas. Unfortunately, tremendous advances concerning surgical technique and technological support, since the early tumor resections in the 19th century, have not yet been translated into a significant impact on the natural course of this disease.
