Abstract

In this chapter, the role of vasopressin (VP) in immunoregulation has been reviewed, via pituitary hormones and by direct effect on the immune system. It has been proven that VP is required for the maintenance of adaptive immune function. Growth and lactogenic hormones maintain the thymus functions of T-cell-regulated adaptive immunocompetence.
