Abstract
Smart PSS, as a prevailing business paradigm driven by the cutting-edge digital technologies, assists the digital servitization transformation by its various implementations throughout the engineering product lifecycle. To reveal its practical values, this chapter conducts a comprehensive survey of the existing technical implementations of Smart PSS, and further categorizes them into each stage along the PLM, respectively, namely design stage (Chapter 8.1), manufacturing stage (Chapter 8.2), distribution stage (Chapter 8.3), usage stage (Chapter 8.4), and end-of-life stage (Chapter 8.5). Meanwhile, industrial examples of Smart PSS business models are also provided in Chapter 8.6 to show its significance and industrial values.
