Abstract

This study aims to explain how to increase the resilience of coastal communities and reduce vulnerability due to climate change. Based on resilience assessments in health, education, per capita spending, and housing. This research uses an in-depth exploratory-qualitative method with a case study approach in three regencies in Indonesia to obtain the latest findings, as well as to develop a scheme as a solution for the resilience of coastal communities due to climate change, in disaster-prone areas in Indonesia. The results of the study show that the governance of coastal areas in Indonesia shows that activities to increase the economic resilience of coastal communities can encourage sustainable fisheries and develop maritime tourism. In aggregate, this increases community resilience in facing vulnerability to the impacts of climate change.
