Abstract
This chapter introduces plasma treatment of powders and fibers in general. After a short introduction, it starts by presenting particle formation in plasma and continues with a section dedicated to plasma treatment of powders. A full discussion of particle surface functionalization, originally developed for hydrophilization of hydrophobic surfaces, is included to show the use of plasma treatment for particles of different shapes and made from various materials. Examples of the applications are listed. By the end of the chapter, plasma treatment of fibers is briefly discussed.
