Abstract

This chapter examines and analyzes the status, along with the differences, in different components of e-resources management across different groups of ranked libraries of management institutes in India. In addition to that, it examines the factors responsible for criteria/methods used in the lifecycle of e-resources and e-resource management systems. The study is based on the management of e-resources of libraries of top ranked management institutes/business schools in India according to their classification, based on objectives like: (1) evaluation of the e-resource collection development practiced in the libraries of management institutes under study; (2) assessment of the lifecycle of e-resources (selection, evaluation and assessment, acquisition, access, and renewal or cancelation) practiced in the libraries of management institutes under study; (3) evaluation of the IT infrastructure implemented in the libraries of management institutes under study; (4) assessment of the Electronic Resource Management System practiced in the libraries of management institutes or alternative systems adopted.
