Abstract

The influence of the different atmospheric variables on the atmospheric dispersion of toxic or flammable releases is presented. The dispersion models for neutral gases (Gaussian models) and for heavier than air gases are analyzed and applied to diverse cases for both instantaneous and continuous releases. The dispersion of infectious agents is also studied, together with the importance of sheltering. Finally, a real case is analyzed.
