Abstract
Renewable energy resources and technologies began to gain particular interest due to the increasing demand for energy as well as environmental issues that the world is facing because of the excessive use of fossil fuels. Researches highlight that Turkey has important potentials of (mainly) hydraulic and geothermal energy and other renewable energy potentials. Turkey, although staying right besides the world's biggest fossil fuel reserves, has limited fossil fuel reserves, not even enough to meet her rapidly increasing demand of primary energy. Hence these renewable resources must be evaluated quickly to meet this demand. The first two choices of alternative energy resources should be hydraulic and geothermal resources.
