Abstract
This chapter discusses the design, fabrication, and application of textile-based technologies for therapeutic applications, with an emphasis on thermal therapies. The development of wearable technologies and necessity of wearable device for thermal therapy was addressed. Section 6.2 introduces diverse occasions in which continuous thermal treatments are involved. Sections 7.3 and 7.4 cover the fundamental materials and techniques for incorporating antennas within wearable devices. Being a key element in the system, the design of wearable antennas is followed in Section 6.5. Section 6.6 discusses requirements of the system specific to thermal therapy applications, and introduces considerations to implement wearable thermal therapy technologies.
