Abstract
This chapter deals with induced mutual growth of metal/silicon nanostructures, nanoparticle-assisted growth of nanowires, metal nanoparticle-assisted growth of silicon nanowires, bounded silicon nanowire, growth of SiGe nanowires, metal-silicon (silicide) catalyst for Si NW growth, platinum silicide (PtSi) catalyst, nickel silicide (NiSi) catalyst, palladium silicide (Pd2Si) catalyst, nano Si-induced growth of gold nanostructures, deposition of metal nanowires by STM tip, and mechanical characterization.
