Abstract
For improving productivity and efficiency of any process, an improved understanding of a process is necessary. In that regard, modeling and simulation have definitely played a vital role in understanding heat generation, temperature distribution, and material flow visualization during friction stir welding. Modeling and simulation of similar friction stir welding have proven to be a difficult task, and dissimilar friction stir welding adds an extra layer to the complexity. The chapter reviews current state-of-the-art of dissimilar friction stir welding.
