Abstract

Handling and substance administration are basic procedures performed on laboratory animals, both during husbandry and experimental practices. In addition to be carried out by experienced and adequately trained staff, handling, tagging, and substance administration should be carried out to minimize animal stress. In this chapter, we report common and well-established approaches for handling, tagging, and substance administration in the most used rodents species, rabbits, and zebrafish. We also discuss refined approaches of each method for all species considered.
