Abstract
Metal products are increasingly used in various fields of industry, agriculture, and people’s lives, creating more and more value for the society. As the most advanced and promising technology in the entire additive manufacturing (AM) system, AM technology for metal parts is an important development direction of advanced manufacturing technology. AM technology for metal powder has achieved certain results at present. However, since AM technology puts forward higher requirements on materials, the material bottleneck currently faced will inevitably affect the promotion of AM technology. There are many kinds of metal materials suitable for industrial AM, but only special powder materials can meet the industrial production requirements. This chapter elaborates on the AM technology and principle of metal materials, the power materials, and wire materials for metal AM, structure, and performance of metal AM parts.
