Abstract

The East African Rift System (EARS) exhibits thinning of the Earth’s crust, resulting in hot rock materials that interact with water and other fluids, giving rise to phenomena such as hot springs, fumaroles, and geysers. To estimate subsurface temperatures in geothermal reservoirs, geochemical methods such as solute, gas, and isotope geothermometry are employed.
