Abstract

World statistics indicate that approximately 1.93 billion people suffer from anemia. Anemia is intricately linked to overindulgence of dietary fat, salt, and sugar-induced chronic inflammation, chronic kidney disease, gastrointestinal and gynecological malignancies, and autoimmune disorders. Hemorrhagic anemia results in substantial loss of blood which causes significant alterations in all blood parameters, including reduced iron. We hypothesize that chronic anemia syndrome is a constellation of disorders and chronic inflammatory events caused by an increasing anaerobic/acidic environment and thereby inducing a defensive expenditure of alkalinizing buffers in hemoglobin (i.e., histidine) to prevent a dangerous lowering of blood pH. We developed a novel, patent-pending noniron nutraceutical supplement, VMP35 MNC (Prodovite), and conducted a controlled one-way crossover clinical study in 38 men and women to evaluate the rate of absorption and effects on hematological parameters using live blood cell imaging with phase contrast microscopy. Two independent case studies were also reported in this review. Taken together VMP35 MNC (Prodovite) exhibited potential benefits in hematological parameters. No adverse events were reported.
