Abstract
This chapter discusses the results of weathering exposure of polysulfon. Solvay Plastics Udel® polysulfone is an amorphous high performance polymer that falls in the category of thermoplastic. Because of the aromatic ether backbone, polysulfone is susceptible to chemical degradation upon outdoor exposure. Weather resistance can be improved by the addition of carbon black. Protective paints or coatings can be used to preserve the properties of polysulfone articles exposed to direct sunlight.
