Abstract

Meningeal tumours comprise a diversity of neoplasms which develop in the meninges with a variety of different behaviours and imaging presentations. These include meningothelial tumours such as meningiomas as well as less common non-meningothelial tumours including hemangiopericytomas, mesenchymal tumours, melanocytic tumours, lymphoma and histiocytic lesions. Angiographic methods have a special application with many meningeal tumours in evaluating their vascularity, their effect on adjacent vascular structures and pre-operative embolisation. This chapter reviews imaging characteristics of meningeal tumours.
