Abstract

There are a plethora of social media networks that can be used for personal branding and career development. This chapter will discuss a few of them. Basic information is provided to help readers to get started with using these social networks. Each network has different features. For example, LinkedIn focuses on professional networking and includes tools to help like-minded career professionals to connect. Twitter is touted for its nearly instantaneous delivery of the news in 140 characters. YouTube provides video training for millions of topics each year. Yet, regardless of the uniqueness of each platform, they all bring the world together and offer great opportunities for personal branding and career development.
