Abstract
Publisher Summary This chapter presents a review of pyrrole chemistry. It presents a description of the syntheses and reactions of monocyclic compounds, which includes annulation reactions, dipyrroles, dipyrrolylmethanes, pyrrole polymers. Intermediate pyrrole in synthetic routes to pyrrolizidine alkaloids and porphyrins are briefly discussed. Illustrative examples of schematic routes and reactions are also provided. The reactions are explained for different conditions for the topics with description provided at the atomic level. The literature related to pyrroles, pyrrolines, and pyrrolidines is summarized.
