Abstract
This chapter aims to be an introduction into the topic of organizational structures in the field of research management. After a short excursus of the body of literature to focus on authors who have discussed issues in relation to the topic, the chapter gives an insight into “the practice” looking at a range of structures of research division in different countries throughout Europe. Thus, the cases of Belgium, Estonia, Sweden, and the Netherlands are provided.
