Abstract
With the continuous progress on atomic precision and improved skills in property characterizations, the size-/property-correlations among different sized nanoclusters, and the kinetic profiles for the size-conversion has been elucidated. This section mainly focusses on the recent mechanistic studies on size-conversion and structure evolution of metal nanoclusters. First, the concept of size-conversion and structure evolution was provided to distinguish these two groups of structural correlation. Then, mechanism of the size-conversion is presented, covering the topics of both traditional understanding on the formation of metal nanoclusters, the molecular-level mechanism of size-conversions, and the common experimental strategies. After that, the structural and property evolution principals for different series of metal nanoclusters are presented. Finally, a prospect demonstrating the main achievements and challenges is presented.
