Abstract

Nanomaterials have been used in many commercial products, and their consumption in almost all areas of life is increasing enormously. Accordingly, the potential of exposure to manufactured nanoparticles is also intensifying, especially for workers in the manufacturing sectors. Therefore it is time to strictly evaluate the potential exposure of nanomaterials and formulate regulations to reduce exposure levels. This chapter covers all possible hazards, exposure pathways, and established regulations related to nanomaterials. The lack of data on nanomaterial exposure and its potential health hazards is also a focus in this chapter. The related legislation for safe production of nanomaterials is described in detail. In addition, the chapter describes the protective measures required for the safe production of nanomaterials to improve the quality of the working environment in nanomaterials laboratories.
