Abstract

This chapter provides detailed information regarding various organizations across the world that have come up with numerous regulations in order to stabilize and control the oil pollution which has its own impact on the environment especially on the marine ecosystem as it is capable of affecting the shared water bodies irrespective to the national boundaries; this has drawn many international organizations to have a vigilant concern toward the immensity of oil pollution such that the water bodies globally can be preserved and protected from serious impacts on the environment due to marine pollution. This chapter also represents the initiation, affiliation, and functioning activities of various international organizations that contributed to introduce the regulations for controlling oil pollution by estimating the global inputs of oil seeps followed by the counter measures if any operational oils spilled from ships, submarines, and industries into seas or oceans to lift up the quality by emphasizing the laws and amendments that should not be violated in order to prevent the marine pollution to take place by human activities. This chapter gives a brief conclusion by describing the results of the regulations imparted and future management in oil pollution control.
