Abstract

Magnetic nanomaterials continue to garner widespread interest in biological applications because of their unique magnetic properties that most biological samples negligibly exhibit. In this chapter, we will focus on the use of magnetic nanomaterials for the analysis of biomolecules and cells based on magnetic effects. First, we will give a brief introduction of magnetic nanomaterials, especially their magnetic properties that can utilize for bioanalytical applications. Second, we will discuss the syntheses of these magnetic nanomaterials. Finally, we will review recent advances in bioanalysis of these magnetic nanomaterials in different formats.
