Abstract

Glioblastoma is the most aggressive and highly complex brain tumor, once diagnosed it’s almost fatal. Sophisticated high-throughput techniques are now available to identify biomarkers that can extend our knowledge about the underlying pathogenesis of the disease and improve the diagnosis and prognosis. Biomarkers can provide the holistic landscape of the disease on various aspects of disease management. Advancement in several omics’ technologies, availability of promising tools for data integration and interpretation have accelerated the process of biomarker identification. This chapter reviews the contribution of omics technologies in biomarker identification in glioblastoma. We have discussed the tools and techniques for omics data analysis and integration, brief account of omics data repositories and challenges associated with the omics data integration.
