Abstract
Interactions between preceptors and their interns should result in a productive learning experience. The preceptor's expectations may be different from faculty interactions. How to adapt to experiential education sites, preceptors, and the healthcare team is to be planned well in advance. Understanding the roles and responsibilities of the preceptors and interns is pivotal in establishing a productive relationship.
